Archery Lessons

 

Bassetlaw Bowmen are able to offer lessons from the beginning of April right through to the end of September each year. Lessons are given on the main Club Night which is Tuesday, and normally start around 6:30pm through to 7:30pm. Juniors (under the age of 18) will qualify for lessons providing their parent / guardian is willing to participate in lessons, with the intensions of joining Bassetlaw Bowmen along with their child.

 

A beginners course consists of 4 to 6 lessons, each lesson lasting 1 hour, this could last over an hour depending on weather conditions and the beginner. Lessons are £5 each and money is due on the day.

 

All equipment and coaching will be provided by Bassetlaw Bowmen.

 

Once your initial course of lessons are over, you will be invited to join the Bassetlaw Bowmen archery club. Once you are accepted by the General Committee you are required to pay the following club fees before you can shoot again under G.N.A.S. rules.

 

Bassetlaw Bowmen Club membership		Senior fee £17.50 per year. Junior fee £14.00 per year.
Worksop Rugby Club membership		Senior fee £30.00 per year. Junior fee £Free per year.
Grand National Archery Society (GNAS)		Senior fee £TBC per year (contact for details as under review). Junior fee £TBC per year (contact for details as under review).   This also provides Public Liability Insurance to cover yourselves and others while shooting.

 

After your lessons you are advised to purchase your own equipment to enable you to progress. We can offer advice and point you towards various retailers if asked to do so.

 

Anyone joining the club after 1st October and before the 1st March must pay the current clubs subscriptions.

 

Please Note:
While Tuesday is our normal day for lessons and training during April through September, we may be able to provide alternate days and times depending on the availabilty of our coaches. Your first visit however should always be a Tuesday as it will also allow you to meet other members. So, feel free to come down and meet us.
